What AI-native actually means
Most tools in this space are traditional workflow software with AI features added on: good at moving data and sending reminders, but completely uninterested in what's actually going on in your event. Archlet's Autonomous Sourcing was built the other way around. Spark, our AI agent, is the product's interface. Spark sits between the sourcing event and the end user, handling all the communication in both directions. And the event itself can run fully autonomously.
It starts at intake. There's no form to fill out. Drop in whatever you have, whether an invoice, a purchase requisition, or a rough product description, and Spark turns that messy input into a structured sourcing event: requirements, timeline, and suitable suppliers, all through conversation. You review only if you want to. Already have an intake or orchestration solution? Connect it directly via Archlet's APIs.
Then the event runs itself. Spark invites suppliers, chases them on deadlines, answers their questions, and proactively flags submission issues. The exact work that eats a tactical buyer's week today. While the event is live, you don't need to be in Archlet at all. When it closes, Spark analyzes the bids and delivers a clear award recommendation, and the result flows PO-ready into your downstream P2P systems. With auto-award, you can go one step further: set category-specific guardrails and give the system authority to award on its own. You decide, per use case, where a human stays in the loop.
In practice: a request lands Monday morning, and by Wednesday there's an award recommendation waiting for you. You touched it once, if at all. A business need goes in, a competitive, compliant sourcing outcome comes out.
Autonomous, not unsupervised
Procurement can't put uncontrolled autonomy into production. And we didn't build it that way. In Autonomous Sourcing, procurement sets the guardrails: policies like approval thresholds, supplier eligibility, and mandated templates are enforced deterministically. The AI operates within them, never over them. Softer guidance, like category context and playbooks, shapes how Spark works without ever overriding hard policy.
Autonomy itself is configurable. Each organization decides what runs hands-off and what requires a human in the loop. And you can start conservative and hand over more as trust builds. Spark is transparent about what it's doing and why: every action visible, every decision traceable. Award recommendations are exactly that - recommendations, with the rationale attached.
That's the balance enterprises need: events that run themselves, inside a framework that procurement fully owns.
